Carroll E. Cloninger

May 20, 1940 — February 6, 2012

Dallas-Carroll E. 'Catfish' Cloninger, Jr., 71 of Dallas passed away peacefully February 6, 2012 at the Robin Johnson House.

He was a native of Gaston County, born May 20, 1940 to the late Carroll E. and Nell Ratchford Cloninger.
Mr Cloninger was a mechanist at Wix Corporation for more than 40 years. As an active member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, he was currently serving on the Board of Deacons, and had served on various committees including the Buildings and Grounds and the Kitchen Committee.

Survivors include his adoring and devoted wife of 51 year's Linda C. Cloninger and their daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Jeff Brotherton of Sylva, NC; a granddaughter Whitney Brotherton of Sylva, NC
and a grandson, Paul Brotherton of Charlotte, NC

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Don Mott and Rev. Fred A. High officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:30 PM prior to the service.
Interment will follow after the service at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC
Pallbearers will be Bobby Allen, Gus Garrison, Andy Harris, Sheldon Ledford, Todd Ledford and Kermit Stamey
Honorary Pallbearers will be Both Adult Men's Sunday School Class

The family requests memorials are made to Walnut Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 883, Dallas, NC 28034 or to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, at Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
