Gastonia – Carolyn Taylor Funderburk, 62, passed away on October 11, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gaston County on August 13, 1954 to Eva Nell Cochran Taylor Summey the late George Thomas Taylor, Sr.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ronnie Funderburk who passed away on August 28, 2016 and great grandson, Leo Thor Ledford; brothers, Lonnie, Rabbit and Michael and a sister Vivian
Survived by her daughters, Beth Ledford, Vicky Altman (David), her wonderful grandchildren, Gary Ledford III, Dylan Ledford (Cristin), Jessie Funderburk (Harley), Tiffany Lanier (Edwin); Justin Colvin (Kayln); and a great grandson Jr. Colvin; her mother, Eva Nell Cochran Summey; brothers Tommy Taylor, Dave Taylor (Ann), sisters Aleta Broyles (Freddy), Jane Rogers (Henry) and Rose Compton.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 14th at West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, 2145 West 5th Avenue, Gastonia, North Carolina.
A Celebration of life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15th at West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Richard Cole and Henry Rogers officiating.
Interment will be at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the releasing of the doves
Pallbearers will be Gary Ledford III, Dylan Ledford, Harley Funderburk, Edwin Garcia, Nathaniel Rogers, Justin Colvin, Brent Parton, Tony Broyles and James Taylor and David Altman.
