Dallas – Carl Curtis Trantham, 68, passed away on February 22, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his wife and loving family.
Carl was a native of Greens Creek, Sylva, NC born on March 28, 1947 to the late Phillip and Octia Buchanan Trantham.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Jane Trantham, Faye Hayes, Edith Grimsley, Catherine Poole, and Sara Dills; brothers, Ernest and Eugene "Gene" Trantham.
Carl was a machinist and avid golfer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone. Carl never met a stranger, wherever he went! He enjoyed going on vacations with his family and will be missed greatly!
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Jean Trantham; daughters, Jennifer Trantham, Rhonda Love and husband Wayne; grandsons, Joseph Adams and wife Kayla; Aaron Adams and Samuel Adams; great grandson Kayden Adams; sisters, Effie Robinette and Ruth Taylor; brother, John Trantham and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC.
Celebration of life service will be held Thursday, February 25th at 3:30 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Barron Lee officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children' s Research Hospital, Post Office Box 318, Memphis, TN 38101.
Interment will be private.
