Gastonia – Clarence "Buddy" Robert Sexton, 76 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 3, 2016 surrounded by his family and in the devoted, loving care of hospice at the Robin Johnson House.

He was born in Gaston County on March 31, 1940 to the late Clayton Victor and Ruth Irby Sexton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a daughter, Angela Darlene Sexton, sisters, Margaret "Micky" and Pat and Myra.


Buddy was a veteran of the US Army and worked in construction as a truck driver. He was a member of South Gastonia Church of God. Buddy was a member of the Concern Bikers Association, charter member of the CBA and founder of the Gaston County Toy Run For Kids. He also helped with the Potters House when needed.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Watkins Sexton; daughter, Donna M. Sexton; son, Clarence Robert "Robbie" Sexton, II; grandchildren, Ashley Simmons, Jay Jackson and Molly Sexton; great-grandson, Levi Simmons; brothers, Charles "Bill" and Jack Sexton

Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5th at Ranlo Church of God.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 6th at Ranlo Church of God, 1825 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 with Bishop Jack Ford officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, War Memorial II section with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be the Southern Gentlemen Bike Club and Jay Jackson
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Lattimore, Pat Wise, Jim Love and Sugarfoot SGMA

Memorials may be made to the Gaston County Toy Run For Kids.
