Gastonia- Bruce Lonzo Bentley, 76 of 1617 American Street, passed away January 25, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Lancaster, SC, born September 3, 1934 to the late Ernest Lonzo and Sarah Elizabeth Neely Bentley
Bruce was a veteran of U.S. Air Force. He worked for Beveridge Machine Works for over 20 years. He also worked as a Aircraft mechanic
He is preceded in death by his parents
Survivors include his daughters: Donnalee McGhee and husband Ernest of Houston, DE; Gail Burgess and husband Jimmy of Harrington, DE; and a son, Jeffrey Bentley of Farrinton, NJ;
one brother, Marvin T Bentley and wife Sarah of Gastonia; Grandchildren: Eric McGhee and Jennifer Massotti; Great grandchildren: Elias McGhee, Levi, Maiah and Sophia Massotti
Friend and mother of the children, Helen Radtka of Felton, DE
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 29, in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Military Honor will be by the NC National Honor Guard.
The Bentley family will begin receiving friends 1 hr prior to the service
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves; Memorials may be made to Boys Town USA, 14100 Crawford Street, Boystown, NE 68010
