Brenda Faye Mitchell Shires, 71 of Gastonia passed away peacefully May 23, 2013 at Gastonia Rehab and Healthcare.
She was a native of Gaston County, born October 14, 1941 to the late Winford Jaminson and Pauline Inez Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Shires, Sr. Brenda was a member of the Union Road Church of God, and had worked in textiles and was a decorator most of her life.
Survivors include her children, Debbie and Bobby Hinkle, Gene and Debbie Shires and Charlie and Robin Shires; grandchildren Paula and Raynor Williams, Robby and Amanda Hinkle, Stuart and Kayla Shires, Sidney Shires, Hunter Shires, Kyle and Kristin Jones, Matthew Shires; great grandchildren, Kadence Shires, Braden Shires, Cassie Shires, Levi Hinkle and Austin Jones A memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 23, 2013 at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Greene officiating.
Interment will be private at a later date for the family
