Gastonia –Brenda Ann Childers Atkins, 74 passed away suddenly on September 29, 2017.
She was born in Cherokee County, South Carolina on July 7, 1943 to the late James and Selma Lane Childers.
Brenda was a devoted member of East Garrison Baptist Church. She was a member of the JOY Club and enjoyed singing in the choir. Brenda retired from Bell South with over 25 years of dedicated services. The love of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they were her heart from day one… Brenda was MOST PROUD of her family!! She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish her memories includes her loving husband of 30 wonderful years, Orren Atkins; her daughters, Robin Poole (David), Angela Tindall;
step children, Donnie Atkins (Wanda), Cristi Arthur (Ronnie), Trena Wisher (Tim); grandchildren, Summer Cline (Kevin), Mandi Williams (Jay), Stephanie Seate, Jake Arthur, Macey Atkins, Tanner Atkins, Abbe Kate Wisher and Jax Arthur; great grandchildren, Rhett and Rose Cline, Jordyn Oakes and Jayden Williams.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2nd at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Ledford and Reverend Jack Fleming officiating.
