Bobby Harold Phillips, 81, entered into Heaven on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Bobby was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late J. Denzil and Stella Ledford Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by
brothers, Larry and Mack Phillips, sister Joyce Phillips; brother in laws, Conley Reeves and Gerig Huggins, sister in law, Paulet Phillips.
Bobby retired from Parkdale Mills after 50 years of service. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, former Music Director, R. A. Leader, former Brotherhood Director, and former Sunday School Superintendent. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Military Policeman and attended Gaston College.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Annie Mauney Phillips; one daughter, Trina Robinson and husband Mike of Gastonia; three sons, Scott Phillips and wife Mandy of Gastonia, Tony Phillips and wife Renee of Cramerton, Jason Phillips and wife Andrea of Cramerton; brothers and sisters, Jerri Reeves, Ronnie Phillips, Jack Phillips and Rickie Diane Huggins; grandchildren, Josh Phillips and wife Isabel, Stacey Phillips, Calan Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Holly Robinson, Anna Robinson, Brett Phillips, Brenna Phillips, Mackenzie Agan, Caroline Agan; great grandchildren, Lily Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 pm. Tuesday, May 22nd at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Tony Fulbright and Reverend George Pettigrew officiating.
Military Honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard
Inurnment will be private.
