Bessemer City - Robert Rhyne "Bobby" Jenkins, 69 of Bessemer City and Ellenboro passed away peacefully on March 15, 2017 at Robin Johnson House with his loving wife, beloved sister and brother at his bedside.

Bobby did not lose his battle with cancer…. HE LIVED the last four weeks since his diagnosis graciously and courageously! He will be greatly missed by so many!

Bobby was a 1966 graduate of Dallas High School. He enjoyed farming and spending time with family and friends. Bobby began his electrical career at the age of 12, working for Huffstetler Electric. He began his own business in 1972 Robert Jenkins Electric Company. After retiring, he began his career in farming. He supplied vegetables to friends, family and anyone in need. Bobby loved spending time with family and friends, working with Bee's; and offering his vegetables and free work to the elders.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Virginia Rhyne Jenkins.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 38 years, Penny Mitchem Jenkins; brother, James Lee Jenkins (Joyce); sister, Phyllis Jenkins Adams; nephews, Harold Lane and Franklin (Christie) Adams, Jason Graham; great nephews Anthony and Walker Adams, Gavin Graham and Zachary Brown; niece Samatha Hovis, great niece, Stella Adams and Harlie Graham; and his beloved fur babies, Ginger and Kitty and many wonderful friends…

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 17th in the Sanctuary of Antioch Lutheran Church with a celebration of life service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18th at Antioch Lutheran Church with Reverends George Rhyne, Johnny McCarthy and Danny Black officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Garden of Peace.

Pallbearers will be Mervin Lee Cloninger, Steve Cloninger, Ted Rhyne, Leon Wyant, Jeff Stowe and John Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Bess, Ray Terry, Harold Carter, Steve Gouldlock, Randall Certain and Jim Pharr.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Robin Johnson House for their kind and compassionate care provided to Bobby and their family.
