Gastonia-Bobbie Rankin Nichols, 80 of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord peacefully on April 7, 2011
She was a native of Gaston County, born April 28, 1930 to the late Glenn and Nora Foster Rankin. Bobbie was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, David Roy Nichols; a brother Bill Rankin and a sister Geneva Lucas
Survivors include her son, Butch Bynum and wife Dana,
daughters, Kathy Simpson and husband Robbie, Jean Ann Nichols all of Gastonia; a brother Mickey Rankin and wife Carleen;
two sisters, Josephine Lewis, Peggy Hayes and husband James
Grandchildren: Amy Brooks and husband Greg,
Shelley Rhodes and husband Jason C. Rhodes, Chad Simpson,
Todd Simpson and wife Julia, Amanda Kannon and Brandon McDonald;
Four Great Grandchildren, Daniel and Wyatt Brooks, Victoria Kannon and Jacie Buchanan
The family will receive friends 6-8 Friday, April 8 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 Saturday, April 9, 2011
at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Hensley officiating
Interment will follow at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves
