Iron Station - Hershel Robert "Bob" Brady, 67, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Bob was born in Gastonia on May 9, 1951 to the late Hershel Lee and Mary Eskew Brady.
Bob was a graduate of Holbrook High School, Lowell and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BS in Mathematics. Bob was a teacher at Hunter Huss High School before joining Duke Energy as a Nuclear Equipment Technician.
Bob loved any kind of cross word puzzles, loved music, especially "The Rolling Stones" and wrestling. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan.
Bob leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Sprouse Brady; two loving daughters, Julie Ward and husband Wesley of Grover, North Carolina, Jennifer Coffey and husband Christopher of Iron Station; four grandchildren, whom he adored, Abigail Gorrell, Robbie Coffey, Caiden Dixon, Owen Ward.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hines officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Tri-County Animal Rescue, Inc., P. O. Box 483, Alexis, North Carolina 28006.
