Gastonia – Birdell Ledford Pace, 93 passed away May 28, 2017 at Stanley Total Living Center.
She was born in Franklin, NC on June 19, 1923 to the late Elsworth George Ledford and Emma Hodgin Ledford.
In addition to her parents, Birdell was preceded in death by her husband Ulrich Edward Pace, sons, Ronald Edward Pace and David Leon Pace, brothers and sisters, Hazel Hedgepeth, Herman Ledford, Lloyd Ledford, Lucille Kiser, Carolyn Coleman, Bobbie Bramblet and Peggy Groves.
Birdell was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her time with friends at Stanley Total Living.
Survivors include her daughters Karen Manion and Lou Collins; grandchildren Chris Collins, Susan Lyle, Louanne Currin, Karla Ashe, Angel Carter, and Timothy Manion, Jr. Nine great grandchildren and Five great-great grandchildren; brother George Ledford.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m., prior to her service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1st at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Ledford officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, War Memorial III section with the releasing of the doves.
Pallbearers will be Chris Collins, Andrew Collins, Darren Carter, Tim Manion, James Bramblet and Tony Coleman.
