Dallas- Billy Richard Horney, 71 of 3210 Puett Chapel Road went home to be with his Heavenly Father March 4, 2012 at Robin Johnson House.
He was a native of Avery County, born January 26, 1941 to the late Solomon Levi and Fannie Marticia Parlier Horney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard Horney, and a brother Wilburn Horney
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bill was a active member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, where he severed as Chairman of the Deacons, he had retired from commercial roofing after 54 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Charyle Skidmore Horney; his daughter Tina Horney Patel and husband Yancey of Bessemer City, daughter in law, Kathleen Horney of Bessemer City;
his grandchildren, Ashton, Dalton and Lauren Horney, Austin, Emily and Abbi Patel; Brothers, Victor Horney, Solomon Horney, Jr., and Leroy Horney; a sister Jeanette Harris and a sister in law Madeline Horney.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 Thursday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, 2128 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., Dallas
Celebration of life service will be 2:00pm Friday, March 9, 2012 at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church with Pastor Ralph Carver and Pastor Luther Carver officiating
Interment will follow in the church cemetery
Pallbearers will be the Church Deacons, Steve Garland, James Wright, Wayne Watts, Daniel Center, Eddie Ward, Joe Vause and Butch Sparg; and Honorary Pallbearers Austin Patel and Dalton Horneyo
