Gastonia - Billy Dean Cooper, 52, passed away on Thursday, December 08, 2016 at Gastonia Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Gastonia and was the son of the late Bobby Eugene Cooper, Sr. and Joyce Wilson Cooper.
Billy was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and graduated from Gaston College with a degree in Engineering and Refrigeration. He was formerly employed with Woods Brothers Racing Team as a Car Chief.
Billy is survived by his sister, Kathy Dellinger and husband Jerry of Belmont; nephew, Timothy Dellinger and wife Wendy; niece, Christy Fraley and husband Kevin; several great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow in the Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
Interment will be private and at a later date.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Eugene Cooper, Jr.; sister, Linda Cooper Postell.
