Gastonia-Betty Jean Beaty Hoffman, 82 of 4315 Beaty Road went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gaston County on February 24, 1931 to the late
Thomas Jefferson Beaty and Ollie Paysour Beaty.
She was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55years, Billy Charles Hoffman; a daughter, Pamela Kay Hoffman; a son-in-law, Troy Potter; brothers and sisters, Clyde, Henry, Ross, and Carroll Beaty; sisters, Ethel Beaty Glover, Madge Beaty Glover

Betty was an active member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. She and her husband Preacher Bill served many churches throughout North and South Carolina for over 48 years. She was devoted to her church ministries and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her two daughters; Renee H Potter, Tammy H White and husband Mark all of Gastonia; Four grandchildren Amber Thomason, Heather Hoob and husband Travis, Hannah L White and Adam White and four great grandchildren, Alex Burgess, Haley Burgess, Greylan Thomason and Rylan Hoob; and a great great grandchild Xander Burgess; two brothers, Jack and Roy Beaty; sister, B.J. Beaty Turner

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Sunday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Funeral Service will be Monday at 2:00 pm at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Hensley officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves
Pallbearers will be her grandson Adam White and great grandson, Alex Burgess, and nephews Troy Beaty, Robbie Erwin, Billy Glover, Robert Hoffman, Ronnie Hoffman, Terry Hoffman, Jackie Hoffman, Gary Hoffman, Barth Hoffman, Shannon Robinson, David Lynn, Carroll Mathis and Neal Mathis
