Gastonia – Betty Louise Brown Carpenter, 93 passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018
at Accordius Health Care of Gastonia.
She was born in Gaston County on July 28, 1925 to the late Horace J Brown, Sr. and Aileen Merritte Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence William Carpenter, Jr.; her son, William Brown Carpenter and a brother, Horace J Brown, Jr.
She retired as a decorator with Gastonia Glidden after 18 years of dedicated services.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed!
Betty was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Three Class.
Left to cherish her memories includes her sons, Ronald David "Ron" Carpenter and Michael Gene and wife Cathy Blanton Carpenter; grandson, Christopher Michael "Chris" Carpenter and Brittany Butler and her daughter, Bella; and one great grandson, Nicholas Michael Carpenter; niece Susan Henderson and husband Lanny, great nephews, Jeff and Tim Henderson and wife Joy; Jennifer, Taylor, Hunter and Landon Pete; mother of her grandson, Chris Carpenter, Debbie Carpenter Scarborough; cousins Beverly and Jack Kimbro, Beth and Max Wolfe.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Brandon McKoy and Reverend Dr. Ned Buckner officiating
Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Chris Carpenter, Mark Campbell, Von Heavner, Hunter Henderson, Tim Henderson and Joe Mayes.
The family would like to thank all her wonderful and loving caregivers at Accordius Health Care of Gastonia and Carolina Caring, and Hospice of Newton, NC for their excellent care of
their Mom.
