Gastonia – Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Calipari Caldwell, 83 passed away on April 13, 2017 surrounded by her family at her residence.
She was born in Massena, New York on January 30, 1934 to the late Vincent and Althea Steery Calipari. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Calipari; sisters, Angelia Petra and Mary Brunton.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She loved music, dancing, fishing and the ocean. Betty was a member of Garver Memorial Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband of 22 years, Jack Caldwell; daughters Yvonne Hourihan, Tina Hylton, Linda Dubberly and Lisha Beaver; sons Joseph White, Keith White and Clyde Palmer, Jr.; 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, sisters Carmela Gardner, Katherine LaShomb and Frances Garcia step children Allan Caldwell and Lisa Flowers;
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 18th at Garver Memorial Baptist Church with A Celebration of Life service to be held at 3:00 pm with Reverend David Stewart officiating.
Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery
