Benny "Pappy" Carrol Brown

Benny Carrol "Pappy" Brown, 85, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Benny was born in Belmont and was the son of the late Benjamin "Ben" and Otis Hager Brown.

 He was a graduate of Belmont High School and owned and operated Browns Marine Service and Boat Repair. Benny started the Gateway Cowboy Church and was a pilot for many years. He was a man of everything and very active in his community. Benny leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him. 

Pappy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Hyde Brown; son, Jeff Brown (Amy); his wonderful grandchildren, Tyler Brown (Paige), Gage Brown, Delaney Brown; great-grandchild, Kolbie Brown: brother, Larry Dean Brown (Becky). 

 Family and friends will gather for visitation on Monday December 2, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Whitener officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Point High School Big Red Booster Club or the Cowboys of the Cross Rodeo Ministry – Lifesong Family Church – Lifesongfamily.org
