Belmont – Benjamin "Benny" Wilson Brown, 83 peacefully passed away on October 16, 2017 and went to be with his beloved wife of 55 years Gloria Helton Brown.
He was born in Belmont, North Carolina on May 7, 1934 to the late Lawrence Andrew Brown and Hattie Hedrick Brown.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ned Brown, Joe Brown and Roger Brown.
Benny retired from the US Postal Service in Belmont. He was a member of the Park Street United Methodist Church. Benny served in the VFW, American Legion and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of the Oasis Shriners. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne during the Korean Conflict. Most of all, Benny loved and was devoted to his family!!
Left to cherish his memories includes his son Andrew "Andy" Buford Brown and wife Paige of Florida; daughter Donna Rudisill and husband Jimmy of Belmont; sister, Carolyn Brown Garrett and his sister in law Joyce Brown; several nieces and nephews
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22nd at Park Street United Methodist Church, 120 Park Street, Belmont with Reverend David Hiatt officiating.
In lieu of food and flowers, family requests memorials be made to Park Street United Methodist Church c/o Methodist Men, 120 Park Street, Belmont, NC 28012
