B.F. Massey
1935- 2018
Kings Mountain – Benjamin Franklin "B.F." Massey, 82 went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 7, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Banks C ounty, Georgia on July 14, 1935 to the late Lon and Ophelia Shannon Massey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Otha, Rose, Ruth, Betty, Lois, Bertha, Sarah and Elizabeth.
B.F. received his degree in Textile Technology from the North Carolina Vocational School, Belmont; he later retired as Supervisor in textiles.
B.F. was very active at Beech Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir director, youth director and bus driver for the seniors. He was currently a member of the Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church. B.F. enjoyed riding his tractor and working in his garden. Most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memories includes wife of almost 64 years, Joann Jones Massey;
His daughter, Renee Massey Beaver and husband Scott; his son David Massey and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Dusty Beaver and wife Susan, Alex Beaver, Katelin Massey, Natalie Massey, Shepherd Gonzales and Zara Gonzales; great grandchildren, Abby and Cooper Beaver, Langston Mannes.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10th at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, 2128 Dallas Cherryville Hwy., Dallas.
A Celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church with Reverend Ralph Carver, Reverend Luther Carver and Reverend Cecil Spry officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Veterans section with Military Honors
Pallbearers will be Otis Massey, Bobby Massey, Jody Massey, Donald Massey, Danny Arrowood and Eric Hicks.
