Barbara Grove Robinson

Barbara Grove Robinson, a cherished member of the community, passed away on July 19, 2024 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina. She was born on October 17, 1936, in Elkhart, Indiana.

Barbara will always be remembered for her warm and loving nature, characterized by her dedication to spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She touched the lives of many as a member of First Wesleyan Church and through her years of service at Fiber Control for many years. Barbara was “The Best Mom in the World” she enjoyed her cats, cross stitching, and playing the piano. She was very active in church. 

She is survived by her children, James William Robinson (Betsy B), Gregory Allen Robinson (Kim C), Andrew Lloyd Robinson (Rosemary D.), and Christine Robinson Wood (Mike). Her legacy continues through her wonderful grandchildren: Anna Mae Robinson (Matthew Wyatt), Emily Robinson(Andrew Martin) Matthew Robinson (Meghan Mateer), Patrick Robinson, Faith Robinson, Stephanie Wood (Ray O’keefe). Great grandchildren, Jase Martin, Bradley, Chloe, Jonathan, Holly and Jaylin Wood; Barbara also leaves behind her special nephew, Michael Grove; and a very special dear friend of 45 years, Sunny Bolick.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice Ivan and "LuLu" Lucille Farrington Grove; her beloved husband of 45 years, James Leland Robinson; brothers Richard Ivan Grove and Lloyd Earl Grove; sister-in-law Marabelle Grove; as well as her nephew Patrick Grove.

Barbara's kindness and compassion will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly loved.

A Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 21st at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
