Gastonia - Barbara Jean LaGrange Moak, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Carolina Health Care Main, Charlotte. Barbara was born in Albany, New York on July 10, 1949 and is the daughter of Betty Gibbs LaGrange and the late Wallace Sidney "Sid" Lagrange.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Deck, and her brother, Ronald LaGrange.
Barbara was a graduate of Berne Knox Westerlo School in Berne, New York and was a Secretary for the Gaston County School System, and retired from New Hope Elementary School. She is a member of Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister. She will truly be missed by her family, co-workers, and students, whom she dearly loved.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dennis Moak; loving son and his wife, Nathan and Amanda Moak; her loving mother, Betty Gibbs LaGrange; two brothers, Richard LaGrange (Glenis), Robert "Bob" LaGrange (Cindy); one sister, Nancy LaGrange.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church, 426 Woodlawn Avenue, Cramerton with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Baer officiating.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Masks and Social Distancing will be required.
Entombment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, "A Quiet Place", Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church, 426 Woodlawn Avenue, Cramerton, North Carolina 28032.
