Gastonia – Barbara Collins Herrin, 75 passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018 at her residence with her loving husband by her side.

She was born in Dewy Rose, Georgia on February 26, 1942 and raised in Elberton, Georgia to the late William Henry and Alma Thompson Collins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Sidney Lanier Collins.

Barbara was MOST PROUD of her family!! She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed! She enjoyed traveling, camping and working in her yard.
Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and just getting in her car and taking off on weekends.

Left to cherish her memories includes her loving husband of 49 years, James Edward "Jim" Herrin; children, William D. "Bill" (Stacey) Herrin; Judy Carol (Carmel) Herrin;
Grandchildren; Caitlyn, Shelby, Jonathan and Carson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 16th prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m., at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hovis officiating.

Interment will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17th at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 231 Heard Street, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
