Lowell – Barbara Anne Coley Hagen, 82, passed away on October 14, 2016 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Elbert and Ada Black Coley.

Mrs. Hagen retired from Belmont Abbey College where she worked for many years assisting the students of Belmont Abbey. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Gastonia.

Mrs. Hagen is survived by one daughter, Lisanne Mathis and husband Shawn of Lowell; three sons, Linley Hagen and wife Jeanean of Charleston, South Carolina, Robert Hagen of Gaston County, Kenneth Hagen and girlfriend Teresa Mathis of Lowell; two sisters, Audrey Jarvis and husband Eddie of Gastonia, Peggy Feeback of Hickory; grandchildren, Christina Santivasci and husband Joey, Christopher Hagen, Shawn Hagen, Marvin Hagen, Megan Mathis, Zacharie Mathis, Ashton Mathis; 7 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N. Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, N. C. 28052 with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Roger Mathis officiating.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves.

Mrs. Hagen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George William Hagen, Sr.; two sons, George William Hagen, Jr and Thomas Elbert Hagen; grandson, David Hagen; sister, Helen Harrell.
