Gastonia-Ara Lattimore Arndt McRee, 91 passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Florence, SC
She was a native of Catawba County, born October 17, 1921 to the late Lattimore and Jurie Mull Arndt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, John E. McRee, infant son, Robert Lattimore McRee, brother Giles Arndt, and two sisters Mary Lee Murray and Jean Williams. Ms. McRee was a member of Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, and had retired with more than 25 years from Matthews Belk Department Store.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Arndt McRee and wife Kathy of Gastonia, NC; John William McRee and wife Carol of Florence, SC; two grandchildren, Jessica McRee of Gastonia, Nathan McRee and wife Tiffany of Charlotte; a brother, Leonard Arndt and wife Janie of Newton, NC; and a sister Hilda Pyatt of Salisbury, NC.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Myers Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Clyde Penry and Reverend James Pyatt officiating.
The family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow at Maiden City Cemetery, Maiden, NC.
