April Hanson Jordan

April Hanson Jordan, 46, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on May 3, 1978 to Earl and Shirleen Hanson. April is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Aileen Carr; and Patricia and Earl Hanson, Sr.

April was a friend to everyone she met and loved her family. She was very talented and enjoyed crafting and decorating. April also enjoyed shopping and watching hummingbirds. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Earl and Shirleen Hanson, she is survived by her beloved husband, Aron Jordan; children, Katelyn Vanderwerken (Eric) and Oliver Jordan; siblings, Dusty Hanson (Beth) and Kimberly Bates (Matt); grandson, Grayson Vanderwerken; several nieces and nephews; and many special close friends.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor P.J. Rathbone officiating.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing care given to April from Via Health Hospice and the Duke Cancer Center.
