Anthony Brande McGinnis, 41, passed away on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 while surrounded by family and friends. Anthony was born on July 4th, 1974 in Raleigh, NC, and was an only son to parents David Anthony and Ellen Withers McGinnis.
Anthony resided in Ft. Mill, SC with his loving wife, Whitney Rene (Smith) McGinnis, and their daughter Berklee Clay. Anthony was a business management analyst for Citigroup Financial Services in Ft. Mill. He attended St. Michaels Catholic School before moving to Charlotte where he attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and graduated from Myers Park High School. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA in History, and was a devoted Wolfpack fan. Anthony enjoyed playing softball and traveling to the NC Mountains to fly-fish.
Anthony was devoted and deeply loyal to all those in his family and to his many friends. He was a kind and gentle soul who was held in high regard by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Anthony is preceded in death by grandparents Carl Herman and Margaret Rhodes McGinnis and Virginia Dare Lay Withers, and his uncle Gerald D. Withers.
In addition to his parents, wife, and daughter, Anthony is survived by his grandfather, Edsel L. Withers, as well as, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Private Graveside services will be on Wednesday at Philadelphia Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dallas, NC with Deacon Cory Catron
Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, July 8th at 4:00 pm at Life Pointe Christian Church, 2266 Deerfield Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29715 with Reverend Nate Siemon officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Levine Cancer Institute and the associates at Gaston Hospice.
