Margaret Ann Taylor Hunsucker passed away peacefully on December 25th 2014, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.

Ann was born on December 9th, 1934 in Mount Holly, North Carolina, to the late Dr. Preston Reeves Taylor and Mildred Trantham Taylor. She graduated from Belmont High School in the class of 1952 and later attended Wake Forest University and North Carolina State University.

Ann was preceded in death by her Husband of 47 years George Eugene Hunsucker, Jr., her son Joseph Preston Hunsucker and her brother Jack Anthony Taylor. She is survived by her brother Preston R. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Martha, brother Dr. Benjamin T. Taylor and his wife Vivian, sister, Gay Taylor Morison, son Gene Lee Hunsucker and his wife Julia, son Timothy Scot Hunsucker and wife DeeDe, son George Christopher Hunsucker, and son David Keith Hunsucker and his wife Janneth. granddaughters, Sarah Hunsucker, Melissa and Carle Hunsucker, grandsons Andrew Hunsucker, Anthony Hunsucker and his wife Afi, and John Hunsucker, his wife Ella and their daughter Maisy, and by 14 nieces and nephews and many great nieces & nephews, and cousins.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was lovingly know as "Mama Ann" to everyone. While Ann and Gene were raising their five boys, they lived in Tennessee, Georgia and the Carolinas but were always returning to the Belmont area to visit family and spending many summers at her parents' home on Lake Norman in Denver, N.C. After Gene passed away, she returned to her roots in North Carolina, living in her lake home for the last several years.

Ann has stayed in contact with many of her high school friends and was active in planning several of their class reunions. She cherished these friendships, many of which began when they first met in elementary school.

Mama Ann was very special to all of her family and friends and will be dearly missed. The family wishes to thank all of those who helped care for her, especially her family doctor, Dr. Elisabeth Stoffel, as well as the wonderful group of caregivers at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville N.C.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Monday December 29th at 11:30 am at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road Gastonia, N.C. 28054, 704- 864-5144. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
