Amelia Dodson Roberts

Amelia Dodson Roberts, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 23, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments. Born on June 28, 1938, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Amelia was a cherished member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Amelia had a fulfilling career as an accountant in the textiles industry. She dedicated 22 years of service to Pharr Yarns in McAdenville before retiring. Her commitment and hard work were admired by colleagues and business associates alike.
Education played an important role in Amelia's life, and she was a proud graduate of Holbrook High School. She believed in the power of knowledge and encouraged others to pursue education with passion.
Amelia's warm heart and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on the lives around her. Above all else, she cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The importance of family was paramount to Amelia, and she treasured every moment spent creating memories with her loved ones.
As a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Amelia found solace and camaraderie in her faith community. Her beautiful voice graced the choir during worship services, filling hearts with joy. She loved music, singing in the choir and leading the children choir. Additionally, Amelia had a passion for bowling. She delighted in the friendly competition and camaraderie found on the bowling lanes. Amelia never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone she met. She was known for her beautiful smile and natural dark hair. Her first love was her Lord, her second was her family; she loved working with children, was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Amelia's loss leaves a void that cannot be filled; however, we find solace in the memories we hold dear. Her genuine love and kindness will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Amelia is preceded in death by her parents Clarence "Doodle" Dodson and Mazelle Curry Dodson, as well as her sister Eugenia "Jean" Roberts. Although no longer physically present with us, their memory will continue to live on through the stories we share.
Amelia leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 wonderful years, Dick Roberts, who provided unwavering support and love throughout their lives together. She is also survived by her children, Troy Dixon Roberts (Lesa) and Christine "Christy" Roberts, both of Lowell. Amelia's sister Martha Ann Huffstetler (Gary) of Lowell stands as a pillar of strength during this difficult time.
The pride and joy of Amelia's life were her three grandchildren: Keely Hall (Alan), T.J. Roberts Jr. (Ivanna), and Abby Roberts. Their accomplishments brought immense happiness to Amelia's heart. Additionally, she adored her great-grandchildren, Lexie Hall and Jammie Hall, who filled her days with boundless love and laughter. She also survived by her sister, Martha Ann Huffstetler (Gary). Close nieces and nephews, whom she loved and would get excited any time they could all be together.
A visitation in honor of Amelia will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell.
