Alice Shelton Rhyne, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 16, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving husband in her final moments.
Born on January 21, 1945, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Alice lived a life filled with love, compassion, and joy. She will always be remembered for the countless memories she created with her grandchildren Blake and Madison. Alice had a passion for spending time at the beach, fishing, shopping, and sitting on her front porch enjoying the beauty of life.
Alice's warm personality shone brightly through her role as a foster parent alongside her husband Dan for over 20 years. Their dedication to providing a loving home to those in need left a profound impact on many lives.
Among Alice's proudest accomplishments was her ability to find solace and happiness during her moments spent at the beach—a place that brought her immense peace and serenity throughout the years.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dan B. Rhyne Sr.; daughters, Marie Rhyne and Rachel Kitchen; grandchildren Blake and Madison Rhyne; daughter-in-law Connie H. Rhyne; sister Ann Smith (Cecil Jr); as well as other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas W. and Beuna Lineberger Shelton, beloved son Dan B. Rhyne Jr., and brother Max W. Shelton.
Services to honor and celebrate Alice's life will be held at Dallas Methodist Church located at 301 W Main St., Dallas, NC 28034. A visitation will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m., May 19, 2024, starting at 12:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:30 PM. With Reverend Billy Ervin officiating.
