1933-2017
Clover, SC- Alfred Nels Borgeson, Jr., 83 passed away on January 3, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born in New York to the late Alfred Nels Borgeson, Sr. and Ella Roote Borgeson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Ann Schneider Borgeson, and his brother Bob Borgeson.
Alfred was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force for 8 years, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church serving as a lay witness minister and as a Chaplain in jail and street ministries; and was treasurer of the Brotherhood.. Al had a passion for the unsaved people. He received his Bible degree from Rhema Bible College, Oklahoma. He was employed by IBM for 23 years and 18 years for York Precision.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Connie Wisk (Alan), Bonnie Borgeson, Cindy Canterbury (Len), Lisa Klug (Russell); grandchildren, Beth Witmer, Amber Manson, Jeremy and Courtney Klug; great grandchildren, Diamondra, Violet, Phoenix and Natandis; brothers, Jim and Wayne Borgeson, sister Anna Johnson.
A Celebration of life Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6th at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Mitchell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard, followed by the releasing of the doves.
