Belmont – Aleene Frye Stamey, 81 passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017 at Stanley Total Living.
She was born in Mitchell County on March 19, 1936 to the late Albert and Adell Buchanan Frye. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifford William Stamey and son, Clifford William Jr., and her brothers and sisters, Jesse, Raymond, Marie, Mildred, Evelyn and Ruth.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish her memories includes her son Doug Stamey (Tammy) and daughter, Denece Simpson (Mitch); brother, Jim Frye, sisters Vista Regan and Bell Crooks; grandchildren, Adam, Starr, Heath, Bliss, D.J., Summer and Nicholas; great grandchildren Memphis, Patience, MaKenna, Payton, Jeremiah, Amber and Declan
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m., prior to the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, October 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC with the releasing of the doves.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons
