Aileen Dockery Walker

Aileen Dockery Walker, 81, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. 

She was born in Sevierville, Tennessee, on September 15, 1943 to the late Bill and Mary Dockery. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved son, David Edward Walker. 

Aileen was a loving and devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to caring for her dear son, David. She was an honest and straightforward person who was a loving, good friend, to everyone she met. Aileen will also be remembered as a great cook. She leaves many happy and loving memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, James “Ed” Walker; brother, Lowell Dockery; sister, Gail Lindsey; special granddaughter, Olivia; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. 

Family and friends will gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday October 24, 2024 at Victory Baptist Church, 1101 Lynnhaven Drive, Gastonia, NC 28052, with Pastor Keith Martin and Pastor Sam Mintz officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
